Bacteriostatic water
Not a peptide. Testing confirms the benzyl alcohol concentration — the preservative that makes the water bacteriostatic — and screens for contamination. An under-preserved vial will not inhibit microbial growth as labelled.
What we measure
- Benzyl alcohol concentration (%)
- Identity confirmation
- Microbial / contamination screen
What tends to go wrong
Under-strength benzyl alcohol defeats the point of a bacteriostatic diluent.
This is a pattern we see across submitted samples, not a claim about any particular vendor. The only way to know about your vial is to test your vial.
